With the 2008 season now in the books it is time to begin thinking about the 2009 season. More specifically it’s time to think about the 2008-2009 off-season. The off-season will begin 2 weeks after the last day of school for those that wish to participate.

Hopefully you have already considered picking your sticks back up and are hitting the wall once or twice a week, are taking advantage of every NCAA DI playoff game being on ESPNU, and are shoring up your summer camp plans.

As coaches we cannot force you to better yourselves or work hard in the off-season. For those that are interested I, Coach Hall, will provide you with a work out plan that will gradually become more intense as season approaches. If you would like to participate, send an email to varsity@capslax.com with your name, year, phone, email and position by June 18, 2008 for the summer workouts.

EVERYONE SHOULD AT LEAST ATTEND ONE CAMP THIS SUMMER

We will be having practice today for those that want to come. We will play the UNC game by ear depending on how the weather holds up. This post will be updated around 11:30 if the weather takes a turn for the worse earlier in the day.

The Broughton mens lacrosse teams will be playing at Holly Springs, 3/25/2008. The Junior Varsity will be playing at 5pm followed by the Varsity at 7pm.

Holly Springs is a second year program, as well as a new school that was established in 2007. Holly Springs Lacrosse has improved greatly under the leadership of their Head Coach Doug Greenberg, former coach of the Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs. This is the last season that Holly Springs will be playing in the Capital City East Conference. It is expected that they will move to Capital City West after conference realingment.

3/12/2008 - The Caps visited The Ravenscroft School, Raleigh NC, for a Wed. evening contest.  The Junior Varsity registered their first win, in their first game, of the 2008 season by a score of 9-3.  The Varsity registered their first win of the 2008 season by a score of 7-3.  This is the first time that Broughton  has defeated Ravenscroft in Lacrosse, both for JV and Varsity.

The NC State Games Registration is now open.

Competition site: Greensboro College Price Field and Greensboro College Sports Park

Competition dates: Saturday, June 21 - Sunday, June 22

Entry deadline: Tryouts will be open to all players who submit a form by May 2nd.

Entry fees: There will be a $10 fee to tryout and a $40 entry fee for players selected to play in the games. Selected players will receive a game jersey.
