Raleigh, NC - The varsity team(2-1) took it's first loss of the season 4-1 against  a tough Holly Springs(2-0) team.  The game was up and back with both defenses playing extremely well.  Well into the 3rd the score was still 1-0 Holly springs when Broughton was able to tie the game with a man up goal by senior Max Miller on an assist by freshman Dane Angell.

The ensuing face-off would go to Holly Springs and the posession would put the Hawks back on top 2-1.  With the momentum even the Hawks would again win the face-off and push to the goal to go up 3-1.  Another fourth quarter tally would put the score at the final 4-1.

The biggest story of the night was penalties.  Broughton was penalized 9 times for over 8 total minutes.  Despite having killed most of the penalties the advantage was critical in time of possession.

Broughton returns to action next Tuesday, March 17 when it hosts Millbrook before starting a 4 game road streak.
