Cary, NC - After going down 4-2 early in the game the capitals fought a back and forth battle at Middle Creek on Tuesday night.  It was a pair of lefties, senior Max Miller (3g) and sophomore Sonny Creech(4g) that led seven goal scorers to a 12-10 victory over the Mustangs.

It was a late fourth quarter charge highlighted by great defense and two short-handed goals that would win the day for the Caps.  Down 10-9 in the middle of a three minute non-realeasable penalty junior William Strayhorn won a critical face off.  After a time out Creech was able to run by a double team and tie the game at 10.

After another stop by the defense, on the same 3-minute penalty, the ensuing clear led to the go-ahead goal.  junior Ward Smith threw the ball ahead to Strayhorn for a one on none opportunity that Strayhorn would not waste, burying his first of the season.

Miller would get his third and final goal a few minutes later, by running by another double team, and seal the game.  Junior James Foster stepped up again making 16 saves, with six of them coming late in the fourth.

The win leads the Caps to a 5-1 start poised for a match up with conference rival Wakefield.
