Caps Drop OT Thriller at Holly Springs

Holly Springs, NC - The Caps lost a tough 9-8 decision on the road at Holly Springs. The night was highlighted by junior goalie James Foster's career high 34 saves.
In the loss the Caps had seven different players score, providing a balanced offense throughout the game. However. it was the face-off X that would make the difference at the end of the day. Holly springs was able to turn several faceoffs into goal-scoring opportunities.
Sophomore Mitchell Duepere scored the tying goal with just 15 seconds to go in regulation to stop a 3-0 Hawks run, which included the go-ahead goal with just 55 seconds to go. In overtime, Holly Springs was able to gain possessionand call a time out. The ensuing possession lead to the winning tally, just a few moments into overtime.
The Caps return to action Friday night when they host South East Raleigh at 7:30.

The Junior Varsity improved to 6-0 with a 6-5 nail-biting victory over the Hawks. Congrats to Coach Smith and all the players.
